Last weekend, I celebrated my birthday (aka my BERNday)! The older I get, the less I try to plan things out. But looking back at last weekend, I realize it was loaded with fun!

Fit-styled BERNday
My birthday was Saturday, March 26th. And the only way I wanted to kick it off was at a Barry’s Bootcamp class, of course! I stuck to my normal 8:15am Saturbae class because 1) it’s my favorite and 2) I wanted to do so much that day! Nichole Peterson, the reigning Hottest Trainer in SF, taught the class and even made a special play list! As requested by me, Nichole played songs that featured words like “Fire” and “Burn” (for Bern)!
The team at Barry’s made me feel special and gave me a cute bouquet of ranunculus (one of my faves) and a milkshake! Whoot!
Given the 8:15am time slot, the best I could do was ask people to show up – in bright colors! So lucky to workout alongside great people at Barry’s!

Lunch at Sutro’s
I had a late lunch with my family at Sutro’s at the Cliff House. Can you believe I’ve never been there? Or seen Sutro Baths that close? Yea, where HAVE I been?
It was a seafood lover’s dream! I had the Thai Style Bouillabaisse. I don’t know how to pronounce that, but it was delish! Our waiter was, sorta lazy, but with a view of the bay, I didn’t let that bother me.
After lunch, we attempted to take photos outside. Yea, it wasn’t going to happen on a windy day. Below, you’ll find my favorite blooper (second photo in the slider). My dress kept blowing up like Marilyn Monroe, but don’t worry – I’m wearing shorts underneath.

The festivities continued with dessert at a cute new macaron shop in my home town of Daly City, CA (aka mini Manila because my fellow Filipinos live there).
Let me just say, Ketsourine Macarons is a blogger’s delight! I appreciate the interior design of the shop. I will definitely come back to take photos.
Now in terms of quality of the treats… mmm, I’m willing to give them another shot. Perhaps on another cheat day, which is rare, I will try their macaron ice cream sandwiches.

For dinner, I went to a new Brazilian Steak House in SOMA SF called Fogo de Chão. I LOVE my meat!!!! So this was a pleasant surprise!
The ambiance of this restaurant was superb, though too dark lit for good photos.
Pro-tip: If you’ve never been to a Brazilian steak house, do not stuff yourself with the buffet. Pace yourself with the meat and use the buffet as options for your side dishes. Be on the lookout for the cut of meat you want to try. My fave was the sirloin. Mmmm
Fun-styled BERNday
The celebration continued into Sunday, which happened to be Easter! I had friends in town and we met up for brunch at one of my favorite healthy restaurants, The Plant Cafe Organic, on Pier 3. In the spirit of Easter, I asked them to wear either something colorful, or pastels, or something light and airy.
I ordered Eggs Benedict, my favorite brunch item, only because I’m still in the process of learning how to perfectly poach an egg. I will update you on progress, if any.
After brunch, we played with bubbles. Why? Because that was my birthday wish! But I forgot to factor in the wind, so most of our photos were bloopers. Yet I love them! They truly capture what how fun our friendship is.

In summary, BERNday was more than I could have asked for. Although I’m getting older, I still feel so young at heart! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for me this next year!
