Last month, I hosted my first official event at RockSalt Pilates in their new location in Potrero Hill! I’m happy to say that the class was SOLD OUT (with one person on the wait list)!
Whether you are new to Pilates or have a few years of practice under your belt, RockSalt will prove to be a good challenge for all levels.
Our amazing RockStar instructor, Erin Bostock, led us through an amazing Sweat style workout. (More about the different styles of classes below.)

I was happy to see friends from work and the local blogging / fitness communities attend my event. I was even more thrilled to meet new faces!

I particularly loved how everyone, including myself, could not stop sweating. Erin’s routine proved to be a challenge, however, modifications were offered and most of us took on modifications as needed.

Sponsors
This event couldn’t have happened without our generous sponsors. I didn’t realize how many awesome brands I’ve worked with in the past!

Striped bags for striped GrippySox. Polka dot bags for polka dot GripySox!

@SimplyWORKOUT provided these Haute Mess towels (and raffled off a $100 gift card to their store!)

@GrippySox provided everyone with a cute pair of socks in either stripes or dots.
@PopAndBottle provided plant-based refreshments as a post-workout treat
@GoMacro provided each attendee with a few bars to snack on the way home
@BareSnacks also provided a bag of their yummilicious plant-based treats
Bonnie from @YoconutDF showed up after class and offered my friends some yogurt made from coconuts!

More about RockSalt
Note that RockSalt offers three types of classes: Sweat, Strength, and Stretch. I asked for the Sweat class since I wanted to get some cardio in. Strength focuses more on heavier weights which is great for toning and sculpting. I have yet to take Stretch, but I look forward to trying it because there are so many ways you can use the reformer to help you stretch out tight spots.
I believe regardless of which type of class you take, the RockSalt Pilates format is a set of two or three exercises which you repeat three times! Sure, it sounds easy, but trust me, but the second set, sometimes, you already feel the burn and will need to modify the third set when it comes around.
What I love about the format is that the movements are typically done to the beat, so it felt like a dance class to me! And I’m a stickler for trying to stay on beat. I love how Erin played my jam of the moment: “Body On My” by Loud Luxury, Pitbull, and Nicky Jam.
And FYI – that’s why it’s called RockSalt.
Rock is for rocking out to good beats.
Salt is for sweat.
Catchy, don’t you think?
Feeling like a Rock Star
In truth, I was slightly nervous since I wasn’t sure if I would be able to fill up the class, or find brands to partner with, but I didn’t realize how many great brands I have a relationship with. I was on a total high after class and honestly did feel like a Rock Star!
And that’s the power of social media and digital platforms. I truly love how it brings like-minded people together and helps build communities and connections.
I’m looking forward to potentially hosting classes and events in the future and withing with new brands!
