Sephora is currently having their Spring Bonus. I constantly get questions about my makeup or skincare, so I thought I’d share some of my favorite products with you.
Skincare
Perhaps more important than makeup is taking of your skin these days. Here are some of my favorite skincare products from face washes to even maks.
Fresh Soy Face Cleanser – This leaves my skin feeling amazing. Not only does it sooth my skin when I wash my face, but it leaves a crisp clean feeling afterwards!
TATCHA The Water Cream – For the past six months, I’ve slept with The Water Cream on every night, and I literally wake up with supple skin and the smallest pores. The Water Cream is ideal for oily skin like mine. If your skin is on the drier side, try The Dewey Skin Cream instead.
DRUNK ELEPHANT C-Firma™ Vitamin C Day Serum – It took a few months to notice, but this stuff definitely brightens my skin. I use this every morning.
SEPHORA COLLECTION Mud Mask Purifying & Mattifying – I love this mud clay mask because it does wonders for my oily skin.
TATCHA Violet-C Radiance Mask – Besides the purple color, I love how thick this mask is when you coat it on. The purple color reveals if you’ve missed a spot. I leave my mask on for at least an hour while I catch up on TV shows and it still feels amazing at the end of the episode.
DRUNK ELEPHANT Shaba Complex™ Firming Eye Serum – A little bit of this goes such a long way! I like how the product isn’t thick, so it naturally prevents you from piling it on.
Eyes
Eye Shadow
TOO FACED Just Peachy Velvet Matte Eyeshadow Palette – Peaches and Cream Collection – This might be my favorite eye shadow palette of all time. My skin works best with warm tones, especially with peaches in particular. The Peach Punch shade is what really brightens up my eyes. The colors are super saturated which makes application super easy.
I’m very biased towards matte eyeshadows. I love how they photograph. Don’t get me wrong. I love my shimmery shadows as well, so long as they are well placed and in sparse amounts, but to each one’s own. I tend to try to go for the makeup-no-makeup look, and then all of a sudden, my I can’t help but make my eyes smokey.
HUDA BEAUTY The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette – For Spring, I love keeping it light. This palette offers me a lot of the pinks and mauves that I love and has a good balance between warm and cool colors. I love using the shimmer shadows on the eyeballs, but never my bone brow as that doesn’t photograph well on me. If you like more oranges and reds, try the HUDA BEAUTY Desert Dusk Eye Shadow Palette instead!

The secret to long-lasting eye shadow is to wear a primer, such as URBAN DECAY Eyeshadow Primer Potion – Original, which has been tried and true by me for over the past five years.
Eye Liner
MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Black Waterproof Cream Eye Shadow – This is my favorite eyeliner EVER because the black stays black even through the toughest workouts (should I end up working out after work). However, it is currently not available as they’re in production. I’ve contacted MUFE’s customer service several times, and they say June 2019 is the approximate date this product will return. Although this is no longer on Sephora’s website, I am hopeful.
In the meantime, I’m using this Long-Wear Gel Pot Eye Liner by Bobby Brown (in the black in – jet black) color. Unfortunately, It’s not waterproof the way MUFE above is.
Mascara
A few year ago, Sephora’s annual birthday gift to their VIB’s was the BENEFIT COSMETICS They’re Real! Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara. It’s the best one out there. I know because I actually purchased their Sephora Favorites mascara holiday gift set a few years ago, and this one was the clear winner. Not only does it lengthen, but it also adds some natural looking volume.
Brows
As you know, I do not leave the house without my eyebrows. ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS DIPBROW™ Pomade in Chocolate has become a staple the past few years. I use the ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS Brush #12 as well. It’s super stiff and keeps a fresh edge if you care for your brush properly (i.e. keep the plastic packaging over both ends)
Lips
BKR – Paris Water Balm Cap and the Paris Water Balm – Before applying any lip, we gotta make sure our lips are in perfect condition, especially when we want to use matte lipsticks, which tend to be drying.
Tarte Lippie LIngerie Matte Lip Tint – Because I tend to wear heavier eye shadow makeup compared to most women, I try to keep my lip neutral. Exposed in this Lippie is my favorite shade of neutral pink.
NARS Velvet Matte Lipstick Pencil – One of my favorite dramatic lips isn’t actually a full blown red. It’s this warm coral red matte shade called Valkyrie. I typically use my lipliner from MAC, which is in the shade of Mohagony.

Face
Foundation
BAREMINERALS Original Loose Powder Mineral Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 – Medium Beige 12 has been a staple for me for years now.
BAREMINERALS Tinted Mineral Veil Setting Powder – This keeps my shine down as well as gives me a natural glow compared to white setting powders that leave me looking ghostly.
BAREMINERALS Prime Time™ Foundation Primer – We’ll obviously need a good primer for the foundation to stick to. I love how luxurious this one feels.
Blush
TARTE Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush is my favorite blush because of how natural you can make this look. My favorite shade on me is “Captivating”, which is a peachy pink. Again, peaches work best with the skin tone.
These are just some of my favorite Sephora hauls. What products can you NOT live without?
In good health,
Bern
